Job Title: ICU Registered Nurse Profession: Nurse Specialty: Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years staff-level experience License: CA License required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Candidates must float to inpatient units as needed. - Weekend work required every other weekend. Description: ICU RN position available. First-time travelers are accepted. Experience in trauma level I or II is preferred. Knowledge of the EPIC documentation system is required. Candidates must have experience with the following skills: - Accessing and managing ports. - Administration of chemotherapy. - Arterial line management. - Assisting with chest tube insertion and removal. - Managing BiPAP/CPAP. - Administering blood products. - Caring for ventilated patients. - Central line care and management. - Managing chronic and acute renal failure. - Continuous IV sedation. - Managing CVA/acute stroke patients. - Performing CVVHD/CRRT. - ECMO management. - Monitoring external ventricular drains (EVD). - Using FloTrac/Vigileo for monitoring. - Understanding GI surgery protocols. - Utilizing high flow nasal cannula (HFNC). - Implementing hypothermia protocols. - ICP monitoring. - Utilizing Impella devices. - Infection prevention protocols. - Interpreting arterial blood gases (ABGs) and dysrhythmias. - Managing intra-aortic balloon pumps (IABP). - Following isolation precautions and PPE guidelines. - Managing IV insulin protocols and dysrhythmias. - Caring for patients with multi-system organ dysfunction or failure. - Providing neuro-intensive care. - Performing phlebotomy and PICC line management. - Post-operative care following cardiac surgery. - Facilitating pre/post cardiac catheter interventions. - Administering procedural sedation and monitoring patients. - Monitoring pulmonary artery lines/Swan Ganz catheter. - Performing sheath removal. - Caring for spinal cord injury patients. - Starting and maintaining IVs. - Suctioning patients (ETT, NT). - Titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips. - Managing cases of traumatic brain injury. - Performing valve repair or replacement as required. - Expertise in ventilator management is essential. - Flexibility to work holidays is required.
