What You'll Be Doing Onboard As a CommuteAir Flight Attendant, you are the heart of the inflight experience. Your role blends safety professional, customer service ambassador, and team collaborator all in one. Whether it’s a quick regional hop or a longer journey, you’ll be the reassuring presence that makes passengers feel looked after from boarding to deplaning. Your day‑to‑day will include: Keeping safety your number one priority—making sure passengers follow FAA and company regulations while maintaining a secure cabin environment. Delivering warm, attentive service that reflects well not only on CommuteAir but also on our codeshare partner, United Airlines. Staying organized with required paperwork, checklists, and reports, all outlined clearly in our Flight Attendant Manual. Working closely with pilots and ground crew to ensure smooth, efficient, and safe flight operations. Being mentally and physically ready to handle any emergency that might arise—because preparedness is everything in aviation. Following all company policies with professionalism and integrity. Taking on other duties as assigned and agreed upon in our Collective Bargaining Agreement. What We're Looking For We’re seeking people who bring both heart and reliability to the role. The essentials you’ll need to qualify are: At least 21 years of age. Legal authorization to work in the United States (U.S. citizen, national, lawful permanent resident, or otherwise authorized alien). A valid U.S. or foreign passport with applicable visas, plus unrestricted travel rights in and out of the U.S. to all cities CommuteAir serves. Fluent English skills, both written and spoken. A satisfactory 10‑year background history, including criminal record check. A high school diploma or GED. At least two years of customer service experience in any field—retail, hospitality, healthcare, or another people‑facing role. The ability to maintain our professional uniform and grooming standards while on duty. Visible tattoos are not permitted, and piercings are limited to the ears only. Beyond the basics, we value people who can: Stay composed and professional even in challenging situations. Apply basic math to solve problems and complete paperwork accurately. Read and understand work‑related documents with ease. Listen actively and ask clarifying questions when needed. Evaluate new information to solve problems and make sound decisions. Communicate clearly and kindly with passengers, teammates, and vendor partners. Physical and Environmental Realities of the Job Lifting or moving up to 50 pounds occasionally, up to 20 pounds frequently, and up to 10 pounds consistently. Height (without shoes) must fall between 4'11" and 5'11". Ability to push and maneuver a beverage cart weighing up to 250 pounds. Expect to reach, crouch, kneel, bend, and twist while working in tight, confined spaces. Ability to reach and operate emergency equipment and exits without difficulty. Good hearing in a loud cabin environment. Work Environment Snapshot Most time will be inside the aircraft, but you will be exposed to outdoor elements during boarding and deplaning. This means weather variations from over 90 degrees to below 32 degrees, depending on the season and location. Noise levels can be high enough that you may need to raise your voice to be heard.
