Overview Medical Assistant (MA) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Minneapolis, MN Pay: The anticipated salary range is $20-$25 per hour (MA) or $24-$28 per hour (LPN), depending on experience and qualifications. Schedule: Full-time, 32 hours per week. Clinic Hours: Monday-Friday 9:00-7:00pm, Saturday-Sunday 9:00-5:00pm. Location: 1200 Lagoon Avenue, Minneapolis, MN 55408. Job type: Hourly/Non-exempt. Job Summary: Under immediate supervision of the Health Center Manager, the Medical Assistant or Licensed Practical Nurse performs routine clinic duties within the scope of MA training/LPN licensure in a reproductive health program. Responsibilities include patient history review, labs, contraceptive supplies, unbiased education, inventory support, and assisting clinicians. They support the health center operations and advocate for the mission of advancing and protecting sexual and reproductive healthcare for all. Responsibilities Interview and screen patients, take patient histories, document in electronic medical records, and prepare patients for examinations or procedures. Monitor patient vital signs and triage concerns. Perform routine laboratory tests including venipuncture and communicate lab results; ensure follow-up and document care plans. Provide factual, unbiased patient education on birth control methods and reproductive health options; assist with contraceptive supplies and medications. Inform patients about options in the event of unintended pregnancy and provide supporting materials and education; provide information about abortion options as appropriate and per protocol. Assist with procedures, monitor patient stability, and perform macroscopic exam of tissue post-procedure as applicable; administer mild to moderate sedation as appropriate. Refer patients per protocol, perform follow-up tasks, and ensure complete documentation of the care plan. Follow all applicable laws regarding mandated reporting, abortion services, HIPAA, and patient confidentiality. Supervise nursing functions as delegated, participate in onboarding and cross-training, and collaborate with health teams across centers as needed. Manage inventory of clinic and contraceptive supplies, including ordering and stocking as assigned. Support clinic operations by updating and applying PP NCS policies and procedures; maintain knowledge of clinic, lab, and safety manuals. Minimum Qualifications Medical Assistant (MA): Completion of a Medical Assisting diploma program or an Associate degree in Medical Assisting, current EMT/Paramedic licensure, or 6+ months experience as a Health Center Associate II at PPNCS. Current BLS for healthcare providers. High school diploma or equivalent. Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN): Active LPN license in Minnesota and current BLS for healthcare providers.
