Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Pain Management Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 4 Days Hours per Shift: 10 hours Experience: Minimum of 1 year in related nursing specialty preferred License: RN License in state of employment or compact Certifications: BLS certification from AHA required Must-Have: Experience in pain procedures, pre-operative, operating room, and post-anesthesia care unit settings Description: The competent nurse practices independently in a clinical setting. Demonstrates awareness of all relevant aspects of a situation. Provides routine and complex care. Able to develop long-range goals and plans. Continues to develop the ability to cope with and manage clinical contingencies. Makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers to help manage clinical situations. Meets expectations of nursing competencies. Consistent with the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process. Includes assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients. Addresses increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families. Uses appropriate protocols to administer medications and treatments. Monitors for side effects and effectiveness of prescribed treatments. Documents patient history, symptoms, medication, and care given. Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers. Identifies issues and resources to support patient care.
