Mechanical Assembly Technician (1st Shift)

Onboard Systems Hoist & Winch, located in Anaheim, CA is one of the world’s leading providers of Search & Rescue (SAR) and Human External Cargo (HEC) advanced mission equipment for civil, commercial, and military helicopters. Position Overview Location: Anaheim, CA (Onsite) Shift: Monday-Friday 6:00am – 2:30pm Pay: $25.00 per hour This is a union position covered under a collective bargaining agreement. Starting pay is $25.00 per hour per the union contract. The ability to pass a pre-employment background check and an FAA-regulated drug test is required. The Mechanical Assembler will be responsible for assembling products to blueprint specifications while adhering to strict quality standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, the ability to work independently and within a team, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and clean work environment. What You’ll Do Assemble aerospace products in accordance with blueprint specifications and defined quality standards. Use hand tools and equipment to perform various assembly tasks, ensuring accuracy and precision. Obtain necessary training to acquire relevant skills, knowledge, and certifications for the job. Inspect parts and assembled products to detect and resolve any quality defects or discrepancies. Follow all relevant quality systems and Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) protocols to ensure a safe and compliant workplace. Maintain an organized, clean, and efficient work area, ensuring proper care and handling of materials and tools. Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and effectively. Perform other duties as assigned to meet production goals and deadlines. Who You Are This position requires the ability to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing, to complete inspection reports and understand safety and quality standards. High School Diploma or GED, with a minimum of 1 year of Aerospace or Automotive industry experience. Graduation from an Aerospace or Automotive technical program can substitute for experience. U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or granted refugee or asylee status). Prior manufacturing experience is preferred. Ability to interpret technical drawings and follow detailed test instructions. Strong attention to detail, excellent analytical skills, and problem‑solving abilities. Ability to stand, bend, stoop, and lift materials regularly. Ability to sit and stand for extended periods during the assembly process.
