Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN for a 13-week contract requiring 2+ years of ED experience with both adult and pediatric patients and an active IL RN license.

Details

• Acute care hospital setting with 65 staffed beds
• Combined general Emergency Department for adult and pediatric patients
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours (12:00-00:00)
• Every other weekend required
• Charting performed in Cerner

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience required
• Current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications required
• TNCC and CPI certifications preferred
• NIHSS certification required
• Experience with both adult and pediatric ED patients required
• Cerner charting experience preferred
• Skills in triage, IV therapy, phlebotomy, and cardiac monitoring required
• Experience managing dysrhythmias and interpreting EKG/ECG required
• Experience with splinting and orthopedic trauma required

Additional Information

• Provide emergency nursing care across a combined adult and pediatric ED
• Responsibilities include triage, IV therapy, cardiac monitoring, and management of multisystem organ dysfunction
• Scrubs of any color accepted, but tee shirts, sweatshirts, and logos from other organizations are not permitted
• Free parking available in any unrestricted space
• Located less than 1 hour from St. Louis and about 45 minutes from Scott Air Force Base
• Block scheduling is not accommodated and flexibility is required
• RTO requests must be discussed directly with the manager during the interview
• Candidates must reside more than 30 miles from the facility
• First-time travelers are welcome, though prior travel experience is preferred
