Administrative Assistant

Verde Canyon Railroad in Clarkdale, AZ is looking for one administrative assistant to join our 120 person strong team. We are located on 300 N Broadway. Our ideal candidate is attentive, punctual, and hard-working.

The Administration of VCRR is set up to ensure the goals of safety and financial success for the Company, its employees and its guests.

This is a full-time position. The items below should be construed only as guidelines. It is expected that the accounting manager will do what’s necessary to make sure that the month ending is Complete and correct.

Requirements:

· Ability to work early morning, daytime, evenings, weekends and holidays

· Must be able to perform work in a timely manner in accordance with daily train activities

· Knowledge of computer accounting and reservation systems

· Proficient in Excel and Word programs

Scope of Work: Perform all tasks daily relating to the handling of money, purchase orders, invoices and billings. It is the responsibility of the accounting manager to work directly with the Financial Vice President to make sure that all record keeping, deposits and billings are accurate, and all funds are accounted for daily, weekly and monthly.

Example of Duties, not limited to:

· Assist all departments to prepare for their day on and off of the train

· Run a variety of reports from the previous day

· Check and balance department activities each day

· End of day reconciliation

· Billings

· Proper recording of each day’s transactions

· Reconciliation of bank bags/deposit

Other duties, not limited to:

· Purchase orders, procurement

· Inventory

· Payroll systems and procedures

· Rules, regulations and policies

· End of month reports

· End of year reports

· Cash bag counts Daily

Minimum Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s Degree (preferred)

· Command of the English language and grammar skills

· Five (5) year experience in the hospitality/tourism industry

Requirements:

· Current driver’s license with clean driving record

· Legal resident of the United States

· Ability to pass a drug test and background check
