Position Overview Substance use counselor will assist patients through medically assisted treatments and provide techniques for managing opioid addiction. Counselor conducts individual and group sessions for crisis management and coping strategies, evaluates patients’ progress and collaborates with doctors, nurses, and other counselors to achieve overall outcomes. Responsibilities Familiarity with 12 Core Functions of Counseling Provide individual and group counseling services; direct service hours at regularly scheduled intervals; coordinate all services throughout treatment Completes Bio-psychosocial assessment Conducts individual initial assessment and evaluation interviews for service eligibility determination Develop aftercare plans and discharge plans Facilitates, establishes and reviews with each patient the initial treatment plan Ensures accurate and current clinical records are maintained in accordance with Federal and State Regulations governing NTP clinics Other related duties as determined by supervisor Qualifications Current addiction/substance abuse certification, CAC, CADC I certification or above is required. Previous experience working with chemically dependent individuals.
