DevOps Site Reliability Engineer - GenAI

DevOps Engineer to design, implement, and optimize the infrastructure and deployment pipelines supporting a secure enterprise platform. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, operating, and scaling a cloud-native generative AI platform across Impact Levels 5 and 6 (IL5/IL6) and Top Secret (TS) environments.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Kubernetes, secure cloud technologies, and DevSecOps practices. You will play a critical role in delivering scalable, resilient, and secure cloud infrastructure that enables the deployment of frontier AI capabilities in support of Department of Defense (DoD) missions.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, implement, and maintain scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud infrastructure within Azure GovCloud and/or AWS GovCloud environments.

Deploy, configure, and support core platform technologies, including Kubernetes, Istio, Keycloak, ArgoCD, Palo Alto Next-Generation Firewalls (NGFW), and PostgreSQL, across IL5, IL6, and TS environments while ensuring compliance with federal security requirements.

Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform and Ansible to automate provisioning, configuration, and management of cloud resources while ensuring consistency across multiple environments.

Manage and optimize containerized application deployments using Kubernetes, ensuring high availability, scalability, and efficient resource utilization.

Design, implement, and maintain secure GitLab CI/CD pipelines that support automated, compliant, and efficient software delivery.

Configure and maintain networking components, load balancers, BCAP dual routing, and Identity, Credential, and Access Management (ICAM) integrations in support of Zero Trust architecture.

Implement comprehensive monitoring, logging, and alerting capabilities to proactively identify, troubleshoot, and resolve system performance issues, security events, and infrastructure outages.

Ensure cloud infrastructure complies with applicable federal security standards by implementing appropriate access controls, encryption, and data protection measures.

Collaborate closely with software engineers, cybersecurity teams, architects, and government stakeholders to ensure the successful integration, deployment, and operation of cloud services.

Required Qualifications:

Active TS/SCI security clearance.

Extensive experience deploying and managing containerized applications using Kubernetes.

Strong proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, particularly Terraform.

Experience supporting secure cloud environments within Azure GovCloud and/or AWS GovCloud.

Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining GitLab CI/CD pipelines.

Strong understanding of secure cloud architecture, configuration management, and infrastructure automation.

Preferred Qualifications:

Familiarity with SIPRNet, JWICS cloud environments, and Cross Domain Solutions (CDS).

Deep understanding of DevSecOps principles and experience implementing them within highly regulated government environments.

Experience designing highly available, scalable, and resilient cloud infrastructure.

Strong collaboration and communication skills with the ability to work effectively across software engineering, cybersecurity, operations, and government teams.

A proactive, continuous improvement mindset with a focus on automation, infrastructure modernization, and secure software delivery.
