LifeScape is seeking a friendly individual that is passionate about food and providing great services to the children we support. If you don't have experience in this type of work, we are willing to teach you! This position is responsible for meal services within our Children's location in Sioux Falls. Come and join a fantastic team and enjoy helping to serve meals for those that we support!

Here are a couple of the job roles that you will be completing as a Food Service Aide:

• Serve and deliver food to individuals we support and employees
• Follow prescribed special diets, including therapeutic and dysphagia-modified diets, ensuring correct texture, portioning, and presentation
• Adhere to allergen awareness and cross-contact prevention procedures when preparing and serving food
• Assist the Cook with preparing hot food items
• Portion, label, and package hot and cold foods according to safe food handling procedures
• Provide coverage for vacations, sick leave, and vacant shifts, sometimes on short notice
• Collect and properly handle soiled dishes from all areas
• Wash and sanitize dishes, pans, and utensils using the three-compartment sink method and commercial dishwasher per health code requirements
• Unload and store clean dishes in designated areas
• Clean and sanitize work areas after each meal; complete assigned daily and weekly cleaning schedules
• Record and monitor dishwasher temperature logs to ensure regulatory compliance
• Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with health and safety standards
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Education and Experience

High school diploma or GED is preferred . Applicant must be at least 18 years of age. Experience working in a commercial kitchen setting, hospital, school, or nursing homes is preferred. ServeSafe (or similar program) certification helpful and will be provided at a later date. Driver's license is not required for this position.

All positions require a clear background check and drug screen upon conditional offer.
