As a Motion Designer at Profound, you'll bring our brand, marketing, and product to life through motion. You'll work across the marketing, brand, and product teams to turn complex ideas into animations that are as polished as they are fast to ship, with deep ownership over how Profound moves.What You'll DoDevelop motion concepts end to end for marketing, brand, and product content, from concept development and storyboarding through final animationCreate animated brand assets such as logo reveals, title sequences, lower-thirds, transitions, and end cardsProduce short-form social animations and ad creatives, optimized for the formats and platforms each campaign requiresBring the product to life through motion, including feature demos, UI animation, and product storytelling in partnership with the product teamHandle light video editing in support of your motion work, including timing adjustments, assembling provided footage, and basic sound syncPrepare and deliver final exports in agreed formats, including source files where applicablePartner closely with stakeholders across marketing, brand, and product to gather requirements, align on creative direction, and confirm delivery timelinesWho You AreYou work with full autonomy and can take a brief and own it end to end, from concept to final delivery, without hand-holding. This is not a junior roleYou have real command of animation and apply the core principles (timing, spacing, weight, anticipation, follow-through) with fluency and easeYou have a reel or portfolio that shows a high bar for craft across brand, social, and product motionYou're fluent in After Effects and comfortable working in Figma; bonus for tools like Rive, Lottie, Cinema 4D, and PremiereYou sweat the finish (typography, spacing, rhythm, and consistency) and know what makes motion feel effortlessYou move fast and reliably deliver high-quality work on short timelines without sacrificing craftYou're a versatile generalist, equally comfortable on a sales-ready social cut and an in-product animationYou like to experiment with AI and new tools to work faster and push your craft furtherYou're a strong communicator who can articulate creative decisions and incorporate feedback to continuously improve the workYou can just do thingsNote From Our Co-FounderIn the evolving landscape of product development, exceptional design is not merely a nice-to-have, it is foundational. NYC comp range is $170 - $200k.Comp varies by location. Profound's total compensation package is designed to be competitive and includes base salary, equity, and a full range of benefits and perks.
