Structural Project Engineer

Passero Associates’ Rochester, NY office offers an opportunity for a Structural Project Engineer to join our Structural Department and work alongside a team of talented professionals. The role focuses on structural design and analysis for a variety of projects including K-12, commercial, municipal, institutional, and multi‑family residential across the nation. Responsibilities Develop solutions for small to mid‑scale engineering projects of low to high complexity, from existing building retrofit to new construction. Develop innovative design solutions and engineering production methods to enhance efficiency, quality, and production of work product. Analyze and design structures and structural components using structural software, while conceptualizing designs by hand before digitizing. Ensure timely and accurate completion of assigned projects. Maintain high standards of professional and ethical conduct. Develop professional skills through professional organization involvement, project assignments, reading, formal education and seminars. Create structural construction drawings, specifications and reports using CAD/BIM technology. Provide construction administration support including project site visits and shop drawing reviews. Qualifications / Experience BS in Civil Engineering (with a Structural Emphasis), or related degree from an ABET accredited program (master’s degree preferred). 4–7 years of experience in structural design. REVIT experience (required). PE license (required). Working knowledge of International Building Code, AISC Steel Code, ACI Code and ASCE 7 (required). Experience in multi‑disciplined project coordination (plus). Experience with RAM, RISA, ENERCALC or other structural software packages (plus). Familiarity with seismic design. Strong verbal and written communication and client‑service skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Personal vehicle and valid driver’s license.
