In this role, you'll be responsible for the total cleanliness and appearance of the store inside and out, keeping equipment maintained and ensuring a positive environment for customers and employees alike.If you take pride in a job well done, enjoy staying active, and want to be part of a team that keeps things running smoothly, we'd love to have you on board.What You'll DoProvide prompt, friendly customer service by greeting customers with a smile, learning their names, and going out of your way to make every interaction a positive oneMaintain total store cleanliness and appearance inside and out, including sweeping, mopping, waxing, buffing, vacuuming, power washing, scrubbing, dusting, shampooing carpets, and sanitizingChange ceiling lights and install or replace towel, paper, and soap dispensers as neededMonitor plumbing, fixtures, coolers, and freezers and notify supervisors of any issuesEmpty garbage and crush cardboard throughout your shiftUnclog drains as needed and perform routine equipment maintenanceClean cooling systems and filters for the storeOrder cleaning products as needed and audit invoices for correctness where applicableConduct quarterly inventory on products for costs and amounts usedDo price checks, return carts from the parking lot, and sack for customers as neededAssist in other areas of the store as needed and take on special projects as assignedAdhere to all Hy-Vee policies and individual store guidelinesReport to work when scheduled and on timeYour SkillsSolve practical problems and interpret instructions across a variety of situations with limited standardizationAdd, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers accuratelyUnderstand and follow verbal or demonstrated directions and communicate supply needs orally or in writingWork effectively as part of a team to keep the store clean and running smoothlyReporting RelationshipsAccountable and Reports to: Store Director; Store Manager; Assistant Managers of Store Operations, Perishables, and Health Wellness Home; Service ManagersEducation and ExperienceNo education or experience requirements; we will provide all the training you need to succeedPhysical RequirementsFrequently stand and walk throughout a shift in sales, food service, or delivery areasWhere applicable to the role: ability to safely use sharp knives and blades for food preparationWhere applicable to the role: exposure to heat- and burn-related hazards associated with cooking, baking, or grilling equipmentWhere applicable to the role: ability to operate a delivery vehicle in accordance with applicable DOT standardsPerform repetitive standing, walking, reaching, and bending associated with order fulfillment, POS transactions, and cleaning/sanitation dutiesWorking EnvironmentThis role is performed throughout the store and surrounding exterior areas. You will have regular exposure to noise, temperature extremes, dampness, dirt, and cleaning chemicals or solvents.
