What You Can Expect

• Food Tray Delivery Completes all steps related to passing of patient food trays in a timely, courteous manner using clean technique.
• Menu & Tray Review Checks menus and trays for accuracy.
• Dietary Needs Tracking Documents food allergies, special needs, and likes and dislikes into patient cardex.
• Tube-Feeding Products Gathers, labels, and delivers tube-feeding products and nourishments to nursing units as ordered.
• Patient Collaboration Interacts with patients and obtains meal selections appropriate for their therapeutic diet.
• Quality Control Initiatives Participates in performance improvement and quality control initiatives.
• Heath Care Team Collaboration Communicates with nursing staff and clinical dietitians regarding patient nutrition care requirements such as diet education, and poor or insufficient nourishment.
• Diet Order Restrictions Understands diet order restrictions and offers appropriate choices to patients.
• Patient Information Verification Verifies patient information prior to delivering trays.

Qualifications

• Preferred High School Diploma/GED
• 1 year Healthcare experience, food service experience or diet office experience Preferred
• Food Handler Certification - . In Illinois
• Food Handler Certification - . Indiana
