We offer patients convenient access to innovative treatments and advancements that improve the health and overall well-being of our community.ResponsibilitiesAssists registered nurse and/or physicians with exams and proceduresTakes and records temperature, pulse, respiration and blood pressureAdministers medications and injections according to ordersMaintains patient recordsPerforms various routine tests and procedures, including dipstick urinalysis, hematocrits, EKGs, tympanometry, audiometry, inhalation therapy, pregnancy tests, and blood glucoseMaintains inventories of clinical supplies and medicationsEnsures that patient examination rooms are ready for use by patients, and that rooms are stocked with supplies and equipmentCompletes call backs to parents/guardians of patients by phoneCalls prescriptions to pharmaciesPrepares lab, X-ray request and referral formsCompletes all mandatory department, educational and hospital requirementsAdheres to current Infection Control and Safety StandardsRegular and prompt attendanceAbility to work schedule as defined and overtime as requiredRelated duties as assignedQualificationsGraduation from an accredited school of practical nursing meeting the minimum standards set by the State of Alabama RequiredLPN - Licensed Practical Nurse - State Licensure with the State of Alabama Upon Hire RequiredBCLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire RequiredComparable combination of education and experience may substitute for the above requirements.Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action EmployerThe University of South Alabama is an Equal Opportunity Employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, age, genetic information, disability, protected veteran status or any other applicable legally protected basis.
