- # Surgical TechApply: On-Site: Sentara Leigh Hospital: Full time: Posted Yesterday: JR-103426**City/State**Norfolk, VA**Work Shift**First (Days)**Overview:**# **Sentara is hiring a Surgical Technologist at Sentara Leigh, in Norfolk, Virginia.** ***Sign on Bonus up to $15,000 offered for qualified candidates.*** **Shift: M-F First shift, 7a-7p** **Overview** Job DescriptionThe Surgical Technologist ensures that the operating room is properly prepared with the necessary instruments and equipment and assists the surgical team throughout the procedure by passing instruments, maintaining the sterile field, and anticipating the needs of the surgeon. The role involves maintaining patient safety and ensuring that the surgical environment is organized, clean, and sterile. The Surgical Technologist assists in applying dressings, securing surgical drapes and transferring patients to recovery areas. Adheres to infection control protocols and sterile techniques to prevent contamination and ensure patient safety. Works closely with the surgical team to ensure smooth and effective procedures. Surgical Technologist Licensure required in the state of practice. The base pay range for full-time employment is $30.26 - $44.75 hourly. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Our hospital completed a renovation in 2016, including two new patient towers, a beautiful atrium, and a multi-story parking garage. Sentara Leigh Hospital includes a dedicated Orthopedic Hospital providing patients access to a full continuum of orthopedic care, from the preoperative phase and surgery to rehabilitation and home care services. Along with being a recognized accredited Primary Stroke Center, and Magnet hospital for nursing excellence, we also specialize in orthopedic and spine care, heart, vascular, maternity care, and general surgery.
