Key Responsibilities

• Assess patient needs through history, observation, physical examination, and analysis of diagnostic data; provide nursing interventions consistent with the Plan of Care and physician-prescribed medical plans.
• Perform all circulating duties, including prepping the operating room for patient and procedure, positioning and preparing the patient on the operating table, and completing the Safe Surgery verification checklist.
• Delegate, supervise, and evaluate the activities of other team members while executing immediate directives and interventions in urgent or emergent situations.
• Serve as the communication liaison between family members and the operating team throughout the surgical process.
• Record all care information concisely, accurately, and completely in a timely manner using appropriate formats and forms, including computer-based patient care systems.
• Assist in the control and maintenance of supplies and equipment; utilize appropriate health and safety equipment to protect both patients and staff within or outside the sterile field.

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
• Experience in cardiovascular or cardiac operating room nursing.
• Proficiency in circulating duties within the OR setting.
• Ability to participate in assigned call schedule as required.
• Competency with computer programs utilized in patient care delivery.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in a CVOR or cardiothoracic surgical environment.
• Demonstrated commitment to professional growth through continuing education and goal setting.
