Portfolio Manager

The VP Portfolio Manager is primarily responsible for providing financial and investment guidance to institutional and high-net‑worth individual clients. Additionally, this position is a key member of the Investment Research team. As a VP Portfolio Manager, you will: Maintain relationships and service existing client base. Perform proprietary investment research and due diligence. Contribute knowledge and experience to the Wealth Investment Committee. Consult with clients to develop investment objectives and goals and provide financial services and advice accordingly. Create Investment Policy Statement documenting objectives, risk tolerance, cash flow needs, tax situations and wealth aspirations for the client. Work closely with the Trust Administrative Officers to manage the client relationship and ensure that all the needs of the investment accounts are met. Possess knowledge of investments and asset management strategies, products and services. Stay abreast of market news and trends and current legal and tax consequences of investment decisions. Develop referral sources throughout Nicolet. Adhere to all compliance issues associated with sales of investment services. Other related duties as assigned or requested. Interview clients to determine income, expenses, insurance coverage, tax status, financial objectives, risk tolerance, and other information needed to develop a financial plan. Use spreadsheets and market research to back up financial advice. Review accounts to determine if life changes necessitate new financial strategies. Assume fiduciary investment compliance responsibilities as well as corporate governance of the investment group. Develop and maintain profitability by ensuring efficient and quality account administration. Develop new account relationships through community and professional visibility. Maintain knowledge of trust laws, regulations, and statutes of regulatory agencies. Identify and refer business to other Nicolet areas as appropriate. Comply with all federal, state and local mandatory regulatory rules and all Nicolet policies and procedures. Represent Nicolet in community organizations and activities to enhance the bank’s image. Uphold Nicolet’s philosophy and policies by maintaining appropriate controls to ensure full compliance with applicable laws, thereby fulfilling legal responsibilities and enhancing service quality. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business or equivalent experience at a financial institution; a graduate degree preferred. 5+ years of investment experience preferred. CFA and CAIA designations preferred. Series 65 or current, good standing CFP, CFA, CIMA, ChFC, or PFS holder required. Motivated and driven self‑starter. Strong analytical and detail‑oriented aptitude; high degree of accuracy required. Ability to make professional presentations to clients, employees or other groups. Must exhibit good judgment and build credibility as a trusted advisor with prospective and current clients. Strong organizational and follow‑through skills; strong attention to detail. Ongoing knowledge of state and federal securities regulations. Organized and able to manage multiple priorities. Proficiency with PC, phone system, general office equipment. Attention to detail, ability to learn and use various software. Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word and Excel. Maintain composure and communicate clearly when under pressure. Strong work ethic and ability to learn quickly in a fast‑paced environment. Comfortable with PC, phone system, general office equipment. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality. Effective verbal and written communication skills and strong interpersonal skills.
