Position Overview:

This role involves providing leadership and coordination for unit staffing while ensuring the achievement of clinical goals and the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversees, instructs, and evaluates nursing and support personnel during assigned shifts, contributing to performance assessments.
• Evaluates daily patient care requirements and assigns care tasks, ensuring appropriate care is provided for the patient population.
• Collaborates with advanced practice providers to guarantee optimal patient outcomes.
• Assesses the effectiveness of patient care and identifies issues impacting desired outcomes.
• Addresses patient care complaints through established protocols.
• May assist in the hiring, training, and evaluation of staff.
• Maintains a constant state of alertness and safety.
• Performs additional duties as required.

Qualifications:Education:

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program or equivalent educational background for licensing.

Experience:

• Minimum of one year of experience as a registered nurse.

Physical Demands:

• Regularly uses speech for oral communication.
• Constantly stands and walks.
• Frequently lifts, carries, and pushes/pulls objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
• Regularly sits, reaches, and uses a keyboard for data entry.
• Frequently utilizes vision for near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) distances, as well as color differentiation.
• Regularly uses smell to identify odors.
• Frequently employs hearing to receive verbal communication and detect alarms or machinery issues.
• Occasionally lifts or moves objects weighing 25-50 lbs.
• Occasionally assists in lifting or moving patients.
• Occasionally bends, stoops, kneels, squats, twists, grips, and performs repetitive movements with legs and arms.
• Occasionally drives.
• Rarely crawls or runs.

• Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA)
• Registered Professional Nurse (RN) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
• Advanced Life Support (ALS) - American Heart Association (AHA) or
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) - American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) or
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - American Heart Association (AHA) or
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Essentials - American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP)

For Missouri:

• Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA)
• Registered Nurse (RN) - Missouri Division of Professional Registration or
• Registered Nurse (RN) issued by Compact State
• Advanced Life Support (ALS) - American Heart Association (AHA) or
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) - American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) or
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - American Heart Association (AHA) or
