Paramedic (Part-Time)

Paramedic PositionThe Paramedic functions as an Advanced Life Support (ALS) clinician responsible for the assessment, treatment, stabilization, and transport of patients in the prehospital and interfacility transport environments. Paramedics provide emergency medical care consistent with:- West Virginia Office of Emergency Medical Services (WVOEMS) Scope of Practice- West Virginia Statewide EMS Protocols- Medical Director standing orders and medical command- Monongalia EMS policies, standard operating guidelines, and credentialing requirementsParamedics are responsible for patient care, documentation, operational readiness of equipment and vehicles, professional conduct, and participation in training and quality improvement activities. Paramedics represent Monongalia EMS through professional interactions with patients, families, healthcare providers, public safety partners, and the community.Minimum Qualifications:Education, Certification, and/or Licensure:A. National Registry of EMTs Paramedic registration and renewed every two (2) years.B. West Virginia Office of EMS Paramedic license or successfully obtain within one (1) month of hire and renewed every two (2) years.C. West Virginia Office of EMS C3IFT endorsement or successfully obtain within one (1) year of hire and maintained throughout employment.D. Valid Driver's License with driving record acceptable by motor vehicle insurance carrier.E. Emergency Vehicle Operator Safety (EVOS) certification or successfully obtain within one (1) month of hire and renewed every four (4) years.F. Valid BLS for Healthcare Providers certification or successfully obtain within one (1) month of hire and renewed every two (2) years.G. Valid Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) (or equivalent) certification or successfully obtain within one (1) month of hire and renewed every two (2) years.H. Prehospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) certification or successfully obtain within one (1) month of hire and renewed within two (2) years of certification date.I. Emergency Pediatric Care (EPC), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or equivalent, or Pediatric Education for Prehospital Providers (PEPP) certification or successfully obtain within one (1) month of hire and renewed within 2 years of certification date.J. West Virginia Office of EMS Blood Endorsement or successfully obtain within one (1) year of hire and renewed annually.K. Successful completion of National Incident Management System (NIMS) within (1) month of hireIS 700: An Introduction to the National Incident Management SystemIS 100: Introduction to the ICS SystemIS 200: Basic Incident Command System for Initial ResponseIS 800: National Response Framework, an IntroductionL. Unencumbered ability to practice Emergency Medical Services within the State of WV and be in compliance with all Federal, State, and Local statutes, rules, and regulations.M. Background check that does not demonstrate a threat to public safety, health, or welfare nor an unwillingness to comply with state laws, rules, procedures, etc.N. Not have been convicted of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, reckless driving or other vehicular violation causing bodily injury or death within two years prior to hire.Experience:1. Minimum of one (1) year of experience as a field EMS clinician (EMT, AEMT, and/or Paramedic).2. Minimum of two (2) years of driving experiencePreferred Qualifications:Education, Certification, and/or Licensure:1. Associate, Bachelor, or Graduate level degree from a regionally accredited post-secondary educational institution.2. WV Mobile Critical Care Paramedic (MCCP), IBCS Flight Paramedic Certified (FP-C) or Critical Care Paramedic Certified (CCP-C).Experience:1. Two (2) years of experience as a field clinician at the paramedic level
