• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1910 - $2010
• Location: Lynchburg, VA 24501 (Lynchburg, Virginia - Central VA travel nursing)
• Unit/Setting: Neuro ICU - LAC Resource Team (Neuro critical care)
• Employment Type: Travel Contract / Travel Nurse Job
• Duration: 13 weeks (June 29, 2026 - September 26, 2026)
• Shift: 12-hour Night Shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Charge Responsibility: May be required (training and pay differential provided)
• Expected Weekends: 2-3 weekends per month

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2-3 years of recent clinical ICU experience (Neuro ICU experience preferred)
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (state licensure per assignment)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications; NIH Stroke Scale certification required
• COVID-19 and Influenza vaccination or approved declination
• Teaching hospital experience preferred - experience working with students and new hires is a plus
• All requested time off must be submitted and approved prior to acceptance
• No local travelers within 60 miles

Primary Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, evidence-based care to Neuro ICU patients with medical and surgical neurologic diagnoses
• Monitor and manage vital signs, IV pumps, wound vacs, chest tubes, tube feeding pumps, and oxygen delivery devices
• Use bedside equipment including glucometers, SCDs, bladder scanners, vein finders, and remote telemetry
• Recognize and respond to neuro changes; collaborate with interdisciplinary team for patient-focused care
• Float within the unit as needed (travelers float first)
• Support a culture of mentorship and education - assist and collaborate with students, new hires, and experienced staff
• May assume charge nurse responsibilities when required (training and differential provided)
