Labor and Delivery Nurse

Seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery RN to provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to women throughout the labor, delivery, and postpartum process. The RN will utilize the nursing process to assess patient needs, develop and implement individualized care plans, monitor maternal and fetal status, and evaluate outcomes. This role requires strong clinical judgment, effective communication, and the ability to collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, patients, families, and other healthcare professionals in a fast-paced maternity environment. Key Responsibilities: Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients throughout labor, delivery, and postpartum. Assess maternal and fetal conditions and develop appropriate nursing care plans. Monitor fetal heart rate, maternal vital signs, and labor progression. Administer medications and treatments according to established protocols. Provide patient and family education and emotional support throughout the childbirth process. Communicate changes in patient condition and pertinent information to the healthcare team. Delegate and supervise patient care while ensuring safe and effective outcomes. Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately. Identify variances from patient goals and participate in implementing appropriate solutions. Maintain patient safety, infection control, and professional nursing standards. Qualifications: Minimum 1 year of RN experience required. Labor & Delivery experience preferred/required based on department needs. Graduation from an accredited nursing program required. Active Michigan RN license required. BLS required. ACLS required. BSN preferred. TNCC preferred.
