Job Description Summary

Manage financial aid functions for the Office of Academic Affairs (OAA) under the supervision of the Director of Financial Aid. These functions include but are not limited to 1) financial aid counseling/advising to prospects, applicants, and current students 2) create and manage financial aid packages for 2nd degree Nursing (ABSN/MPN) students, MSN, and DNP students, 3) communicate financial aid information to support recruitment and retention of students, 4) provide data reports to support and maintain appropriate budgeting for financial aid. Manages NFLP Program and Amy Gutmann Leadership Scholarship applications; records applicant and recipient information, participates in selection process of recipients. This role requires the ability to multi-task and prioritize students' needs to support students in the development of complex plans of study, track their retention and maintain student records. Students' requests and needs come in a variety of platforms including email, walk-ins, Zoom, and phone communications. This role requires triaging requests and critical analysis for problem solving to resolve students' issues. In addition, this role works collaboratively with key university contacts for financial services and supports the Director in providing financial resources for budgeting within Penn Nursing. Lastly, the Associate Director attends and participates in school and university meetings

• Provide a high level of responsive financial aid advising and counseling to prospects, applicants, and current students

• Manage financial aid packaging process for all ABSN/MPN, MSN and DNP students

• Communicate financial aid information to support recruitment and retention of students

• Provide data reports to support and maintain appropriate budgeting for financial aid

• Award management

• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 3-5 years of progressively responsible financial aid experience or equivalent combination. Prior experience working with student services in a higher education setting or related experience in financial aid required. Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills; solid analytical skills and superior customer service skills needed. Working knowledge of the principles, practices and major trends in financial aid required. Knowledge of need based financial aid programs from a 4-year college or university preferred. Strong PC skills in MS Office with solid database and spreadsheet expertise needed; experience with University financial aid systems a plus. The successful candidate will be dedicated to quality student services and thrive in a fast-paced diverse work environment within a large multi-faceted University. Solid attention to detail with the ability to multi-task with a high level of accuracy is essential. Must be able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team with efficient time management and sound judgment.
