Tehachapi, California | Reports to the Quality Manager

Help Shape Quality Excellence at UNACEM North America

UNACEM North America is seeking a hands-on and driven Quality Control Supervisor to lead our laboratory operations and Plant Mix Chemist team at the Tehachapi Cement Plant.

This role is critical to ensuring the consistent production of high-quality cement products that meet customer expectations, regulatory requirements, and industry standards. The successful candidate will partner closely with Operations, Production, Maintenance, and Technical teams to drive product quality, support process optimization, and maintain a culture of safety and continuous improvement.

Main Responsibilities

Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the Plant Mix Chemist team and laboratory operations.

Ensure safe work practices and compliance with MSHA regulations, company safety standards, and laboratory procedures.

Oversee sampling, testing, analysis, and reporting of raw materials, clinker, cement, and finished products.

Monitor quality trends and laboratory data to identify opportunities for improvement and process optimization.

Partner with Production and Process teams to support stable operations and consistent product quality.

Lead investigations of quality-related issues and support root cause analysis and corrective actions.

Ensure compliance with ASTM, AASHTO, API, and other applicable industry standards and specifications.

Maintain laboratory equipment calibration, preventive maintenance schedules, and testing procedures.

Prepare quality reports, technical documentation, and compliance records.

Train, coach, and develop laboratory personnel while fostering accountability and teamwork.

Support product trials, quality improvement projects, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and Technical Services to improve manufacturing performance and product consistency.

Pay Range
$95,000 - $110,000 USD Annual base
