The ideal candidate will have experience providing care for critically ill neonates and will be able to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the best outcomes for our patients. Qualifications Minimum of 2 years of Level III-IV NICU experience Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification Valid Washington state nursing license Skills Required Experience with respiratory support for ventilators (required) Preferred experience with tracheostomies, though not required Competency in managing g-tubes and NG/OG tubes Knowledge of NCPAP and UAC/UVC management Experience with PICC line administration Ability to administer medications and develop care plans Experience in discharge planning to home Excellent interpersonal skills and a positive attitude Patient Types and Common Diagnoses Prematurity (down to 22 weeks gestation) Respiratory Distress Syndrome (RDS) High-risk deliveries Feeders and growers Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome (NAS) Preferred Experience Surgical patients Hypoxic-Ischemic Encephalopathy (HIE) Additional Information EMR System: EPIC Floating may occur to MedSurg or PICU for patients aged 1 and under or as necessary Weekend rotation every other weekend; occasional back-to-back weekends may occur Shift times may include 0700-1930 or 1900-0730 Scrub color is flexible This position is located in a 152-bed children’s hospital with a Level IV NICU, which is the second highest level in the state.
