IMG Clinical Experience Trainee

Position Summary The International Medical Graduate (IMG) Clinical Experience Trainee is part of a care team working to provide quality comprehensive services to Sea Mar patients. The trainee operates under the supervision and control of a supervising physician, holds an International Medical Graduate Clinical Experience License, and collaborates with staff to deliver team‑based coordinated care. Responsibilities Provide primary medical care services to patients in accordance with training, experience, certification, insurance, and licensure requirements. Deliver appropriate hospital and institutional care as required. Refer patients to medical specialists or other sources of service when necessary. Prescribe and/or dispense required medication to patients according to the individual prescriptive authority granted by the Washington State Board. Participate in organizing and directing preventive health programs such as immunization, disease detection, and disease prevention activities, including educational programs for patients and community groups with approval from the Medical Director and/or Health Center Administrator. Engage in clinical affairs, working with administrative personnel, the Medical Director, and the Chief Medical Officer to improve the patient care experience. Provide care for special groups of patients such as those in nursing homes or other institutions when appropriate. Qualifications & Requirements Knowledge or interest in the unique cultural aspects of the Hispanic people. Bilingual ability in English and Spanish is preferred. Pre‑hire and annual employee health screening required. Annual influenza and COVID vaccine required (exceptions for medically or religiously exempt employees must wear a mask during flu season). Pass the education commission for foreign medical graduates (ECFMG) certification process. Pass USMLE StepI and StepII. Pass a background check. File a practice agreement with the Washington Medical Commission between the license holder and the supervising physician of the same or a substantially similar specialty prior to beginning practice. Maintain a current DEA certificate if prescribing controlled substances. Obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days of hire and maintain it throughout employment. Hold a current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certificate. Benefits Competitive salary of $81,000 per year. 24 days of paid time off plus ten paid holidays.
