- # University Intern, Disputes & Economics - Financial Services AdvisoryApply: New York, NY: Full time: Posted Today: R104990Ankura is a team of excellence founded on innovation and growth.This position supports the Ankura Disputes & Economics Business Group - one of five practices focused on client delivery services across the Firm.**Practice Overview:** The Financial Services Advisory practice assists clients in Banking, Insurance, Capital Markets, Wealth Management, FinTech and related industries. Our primary services are Business Strategy and Transformation, Mergers & Acquisitions, Risk, Compliance, and Controls, and Data & AI. **Role Overview:** Interns, working as part of a project team, perform critical, value-added work that can directly impact a client’s bottom line. A sample of diverse consulting engagements that you could be involved in include: * Identifying, prioritizing, and sequencing AI implementation for a Wealth Management firm* Reducing a retirement organization’s operating costs by $80m/year* Executing a firmwide program to enhance a bank’s processes and control* Optimizing and redesigning an insurers claims function* Documenting a bank’s obligations that arose from laws, rules, and regulatory requirements* Redesigning a corporate trust’s operating model **Essential Duties and Responsibilities:*** Identifying gaps and opportunities for improvement and automation in processes and controls and related risks* Assist in gathering client data and utilizing AI to support analysis* Reviewing client documentation to understand current-state processes* Performing financial, accounting, economic, and statistical analyses* Documenting findings through crafting stories in PowerPoint* Assisting with project plans, action lists, issues and tracking and reporting on progress in status reports* Preparing client reports and exhibits* Presenting findings to the consulting team and clients **Qualifications, Skills, and Characteristics:*** Completion of an undergraduate degree with a graduation date between December 2027 and June 2028 and a major in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or other analytical course of study* Solid academic performance in their course of study with a 3.3 GPA or better.* A working knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint* Strong working knowledge of AI tools and workflow automation* Ability to work in a dynamic professional services environment* Ability to work well both independently and within a team* Research and analytical skills* Strong oral and written communication skills* Attention to detail* Demonstrate the highest degree of professionalism, ethics, quality, and integrity* Willingness to travel and work overtime when needed* Advanced technical skills including SQL, R, Python, or SAS are a plus* **Please note that this role requires permanent authorization to work in the U.S. (i.e. U.S. citizen or permanent resident). Internships and full-time University Associate roles are not eligible for U.S. immigration sponsorship, work visa or any other temporary work authorization (i.e. OPT, CPT).** Ankura is required to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. A reasonable estimate of the current payrate for this internship is: $34/hr.
