Job Description

The duties include performing analytical work involved with various programs to include gathering data, analyzing information and recommending alternative courses of action, planning and tracking data gathered. The role also involves organizing and documenting findings of studies and preparing recommendations for implementation. Additionally, it includes performing and coordinating specific management and statistical studies which are initiated by the Division Chief. The position reviews feeder reports for completeness, accuracy, and conformity with prescribed criteria for reporting and prepares reports for submission to higher headquarters. It also involves developing, evaluating, and recommending improvements to management policies, practices, organizations functions, operating procedures, manpower utilization, controls, and structure. The job normally works on portions of a broader assignment carried out by a senior analyst and determines need for and conducts basic fact-finding applicable to the function or process studied. It reviews precedents, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and information provided by the Director, Division Chief or HR Branch Chief. The role assists Director, Branch and Division Chiefs to resolve problems, plan implementation or testing of recommended changes, and follow up to evaluate effectiveness of improvements made. It serves as liaison or activity's civilian personnel coordinator to assist managers and employees with civilian personnel processes and coordinates personnel actions with Director, Branch and Division Chiefs on status of personnel resources. The job also analyzes budget, accounting and operating information in the development and preparation of budget data, worksheets, and reports.
