Job Description

The Plant Maintenance Technician performs routine and extensive preventative maintenance and repair procedures on plant buildings, mechanical equipment, weld machines and utility systems. Plant Maintenance Tech handles repairs that require basic skills of an electrician, carpenter, plumber, mechanic, painter, HVAC technician and roofer. Services of a licensed professional will be requested when required.

Duties :

· Perform minor and major repair to building

· Perform minor and major repairs to machinery and equipment in a steel manufacturing/ welding environment

· Respond to emergency maintenance requests as required

· Follow all company rules and policies

· Provide a great level of attention to detail and focus on the given task

· Follow all safety rules and quality standards

· Work with team members to maximize productivity and efficiency

Abilities and Skills :

· Ability to operate equipment used in skilled trades, both power and hand tools

· Ability to work under time constraints

· Ability to adapt to changing work priorities

· Strong written and verbal communication skills

· Willingness to use Personal Protective Equipment required for Plant Maintenance Technician

· Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment

· Ability to work independently

· Willing to work in excess of 40 hours a week
