Description

Primary responsibility is to operate QAF's thermal processing equipment including heat treat and ageing furnaces, quench tanks, data recording devices, hardness and conductivity measuring tools, and forklifts.

Essential functions include thermal processing, setting furnace temperatures per work order instructions, monitoring heat up time and soak times, racking parts, loading furnaces, determining end of cycle times, performing the quench process, and reporting non-conformances.

Hardness & conductivity readings involve performing hardness checks, performing conductivity readings, recording results, and reporting non-conformances.

Qualifications include minimum 1 year experience in thermal processing of metals, ability to perform basic math functions, forging industry experience, ability to learn to use and become certified in hardness and conductivity reading tools, experience using a forklift, familiarity with ERP/MRP systems, and good communication skills.

Language skills include ability to read, analyze and interpret work orders, procedures, and specifications in English.

Physical demands include standing, using hands and fingers, handling, reaching, talking, walking, climbing, balancing, sitting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, lifting up to 75 pounds, and specific vision abilities.

Work environment includes exposure to fumes, airborne particles, vibration, heat, and noise.
