About the Position

# Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse – Cardiovascular Stepdown – New Hampshire Start Date: September 21, 2026
Location: Portsmouth, New Hampshire

Schedule: 12 shifts per month (3 shifts per week), 4 weekend shifts per month; scheduling completed around requested time off Highlights: - 15-bed Cardiovascular Stepdown unit specializing in cardiovascular and vascular surgery patients- 4:1 nurse-to-patient ratio with 1-2 LNA support staff per shift- EMR: Meditech Expanse; equipment includes GE Monitors, Hamilton BiPAP and High-Flow, Baxter IV Pumps, and Hemospheres- Comprehensive Stroke Center and Level 2 Trauma Center designation- Mobility team support and central monitor station for continuous patient monitoring- Rotating float policy with bedside shift report at each change of shift Requirements: - Active RN license in New Hampshire or compact state eligibility- ACLS and BLS certifications required- Strong telemetry skills and experience titrating vasoactive medications (levophed, phenylephrine, dopamine, dobutamine)- Chest tube management experience required- Arterial line, Flo-Trac, and temporary pacing experience preferred Why It's a Great Opportunity: This specialized cardiovascular stepdown unit offers the opportunity to work with a dedicated surgical patient population in a supportive environment with experienced staff and comprehensive resources.
