Title: Press Operator

Type: Temporary to Permanent

Pay: $17 

Shift:  Monday – Friday, 6:30 am to 3 pm (mandatory OT required at times)

Location : Willoughby

Position Summary:

The Press Operator will perform blanking, piercing and forming operations for a limited variety of parts involving most equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform each operation assigned as instructed by the set-up person.
• Use and understand the necessary Company standard procedures such as in the Quality Manual, the Safety Manual and Employee Handbook.
• Use the safety devices that are provided for each piece of equipment strictly as instructed by the foreman or set-up person.
• Report immediately any quality, safety, or equipment problems to the set-up person or foreman. Immediately stop producing until problem is corrected.
• Fill out the 'Job card’ and use the computer entry system.
• As directed by the foreman and/or the quality technician, obtain quality control inspection and "OK" at the frequency established for each operation.
• Visually inspect production parts by comparing them to the "O.K." part to the frequency and appearance as instructed by the quality technician.
• Correctly fill out the container ID card and ensure each container has a proper card in it
• Use containers as instructed by the set-up person and obtain his assistance to move containers if necessary.
• Perform each operation at the standard rate, striving for continuing efficiency improvement on repeat operations.
• Notifo/alert supervision of problems with job that affect quality & efficiency.
• At the end ofeach operation, clean the area and equipment.
• Reports to Press Room Foreman.
• Occasionally performs repetitive operations such as sorting, packing, marking, simple inspection, mill and drill operations and other associated tasks as assigned by the foreman

Qualifications:

• Has basic communication skills.
• Requires lifting plus sitting and standing for long periods of time.
• Has physical dexterity to perform the operations as instructed to the established rate
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• No prior experience required.

Work Environment:

• Manufacturing or production floor environment.
• May be exposed to moderate noise and machinery.
• Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required as applicable.
