This role involves performing daily TIG and MIG welding to fabricate and assemble a variety of metal parts from blueprints and specifications. You will use your mechanical aptitude, welding expertise, and attention to detail to produce high-quality welds, support equipment maintenance, and contribute to a safe, clean, and efficient production environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily TIG and MIG welding to build and fabricate metal parts according to blueprints and specifications.
• Read, analyze, and interpret technical information on blueprints to ensure accurate fabrication and assembly.
• Properly use and read measurement equipment and gauges, including calipers and tape measures, to verify dimensions and tolerances.
• Take all necessary precautions to work safely, consistently follow all safety policies and procedures, and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Perform preventive maintenance and light repairs on processing equipment to keep machinery in good working condition.
• Operate forklifts and pallet jacks to safely transfer materials, including passing the certification exam and operating a sit-down forklift as required.
• Safely move and handle large, heavy metal sheet, plate, and parts using proper equipment and handling techniques.
• Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards to support a safe and efficient work environment.
• Collaborate with team members by sharing knowledge, cross-training, and supporting others as needed.
• Take on additional responsibilities as assigned and hold yourself accountable for the quality and timeliness of your work.

Essential Skills

• High school education or equivalent.
• 3 to 5 years of welding experience, specifically in TIG and/or MIG welding.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and demonstrated mechanical skills.
• Proficiency in MIG and TIG welding techniques for fabrication and production work.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical blueprints and welding symbols.
• Ability to properly use and read measurement tools such as calipers and tape measures.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and safely handle heavy metal materials.
• Forklift experience or willingness to train and become forklift certified.
• Capability to obtain an OSHA-certified forklift training certificate.
• Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to share knowledge, cross-train, take on additional responsibilities, and hold yourself accountable.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous forklift experience is a plus.
• Experience working with sheet metal fabrication.
• Experience reading and interpreting complex blueprints and fabrication drawings.
• Experience using pallet jacks and other material handling equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality welds.
• Demonstrated reliability and consistency in attendance and performance.

Work Environment

You will work in a production and fabrication environment handling metal sheet, plate, and parts, using welding equipment, forklifts, pallet jacks, and standard measuring tools. The typical schedule is from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., providing a consistent daytime shift. The work involves standing, moving materials, and lifting up to 50 pounds, with a strong emphasis on safety and the use of appropriate PPE. The facility promotes a clean, organized workspace and a collaborative, small-team atmosphere focused on quality and safety.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hudson, MA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $28.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
