Pharmacist In Charge Or Staff PharmacistThis opportunity calls for an experienced Pharmacist In Charge (PIC) or Staff Pharmacist to lead and support pharmacy operations in a specialized psychiatric facility. The role involves overseeing staffing, ensuring compliance, and maintaining high standards of pharmaceutical care within a 128-bed facility averaging 103 daily census.Location:Houston, TXFacility focuses on psychiatric care with a dedicated pharmacy teamSchedule:Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PMWeekend coverage may be required (8:00 AM to 2:30 PM) if per diem staff are unavailableOn-call coverage may be needed to address staffing gapsKey Responsibilities:Serve as the Pharmacist In Charge, managing pharmacy staffing and workflowsCollaborate with technicians and PRN pharmacists to ensure smooth operationsUtilize the HCS Order Entry System (training provided) for efficient medication managementMaintain compliance with state pharmacy regulations and facility policiesSupport psych specialty areas to deliver safe and effective medication therapyProvide leadership during weekend or on-call coverage as necessaryDesired Qualifications:Valid Texas Pharmacist licenseProven experience as a PIC or Staff Pharmacist, preferably in psychiatric or acute care settingsStrong leadership, organizational, and communication skillsAbility to work collaboratively with technicians and healthcare providersFlexibility to cover weekends and participate in on-call rotationsFamiliarity with pharmacy order entry systems; HCS experience is a plus, but training is providedThis contract position offers an excellent opportunity to demonstrate your pharmacy leadership and clinical skills in a dynamic psychiatric care setting.
