Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 07:00-19:00 Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: RN License Certifications: ACLS Must-Have: - Cardiac Telemetry knowledge - ACLS knowledge/skill set for cardiac medical and procedural patients Description: This is a Med-Surg Cardiac Medical Unit. The unit has 23 beds and 1 treatment room. There are 58 staff members on the unit. Day shift staff includes a Charge Nurse, 6 RNs, 2 Patient Care Technicians, 1 Monitor Technician, and 1 Department Coordinator until 7 PM. Night shift staff consists of a Charge Nurse, 5 RNs, 2 Patient Care Technicians, and 1 Monitor Technician. Patient ratios are 1:4 during days/evenings and 1:5 at night. The unit is equipped with telemetry monitoring, vein finders for IV therapy, portable pulse oximeters, and vital sign machines. We use an electronic medical record system and medication scanning capabilities. The patient population includes hemodynamically stable myocardial infarctions, acute and chronic heart failure, new onset atrial fibrillation with or without rapid ventricular response, and stable dysrhythmias. Procedural patients include those undergoing cardiac catheterizations without interventions, ablations, cardioversions, and more. Patients may also require cardiac drips such as amiodarone, diltiazem, dobutamine, and insulin drips. Additional populations include ICU transfers, neurological patients, and pulmonary patients requiring various respiratory support methods. Candidates should have strong medical-surgical knowledge and experience with telemetry. We are looking for individuals who are engaging, team-oriented, flexible, adaptable, and patient-centered.
