OSP Construction Manager

OSP Construction Manager — North Chicagoland Location: North Chicagoland (100% Field-Based) Compensation: $65,000–$80,000/year + Company vehicle Company truck provided (take-home vehicle for business use only) We're looking for an experienced OSP Construction Manager to oversee the construction of outside plant (OSP) fiber networks throughout the North Chicagoland market. This is a 100% field-based leadership role for someone who can hit the ground running and has a proven background managing telecom construction projects. You'll be responsible for driving safe, high-quality, and on-time fiber construction while leading contractors and field teams throughout the build process. Key Responsibilities Construction & Field Operations Lead the installation of outside plant (OSP) fiber facilities Coordinate daily activities with construction contractors, engineers, and field teams Review construction packages and splicing documentation to ensure successful project execution Resolve field issues, design conflicts, and construction challenges to keep projects moving Safety & Quality Ensure all construction activities comply with company safety standards and regulatory requirements Perform field inspections and quality assessments across OSP construction projects Ensure compliance with RUS and NEC codes Identify construction deficiencies and implement corrective actions Leadership Lead, coach, and support Construction Engineers, Construction Leaders, Construction Assistants, and contractors Drive accountability for safety, quality, production, and schedule performance Assist with employee development, training, and performance evaluations Project Management Coordinate work across multiple construction platforms and contractor teams Evaluate new construction methods and products to improve field performance Provide weekly project updates, progress reports, and risk assessments to leadership Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Communications OR 4+ years of hands-on telecommunications OSP construction experience Strong experience with OSP fiber installation, repair, and maintenance Proficiency with Microsoft Office , particularly Excel Experience utilizing HES to manage service orders, trouble tickets, and facility records Working knowledge of RUS and NEC codes Valid driver's license Self-motivated with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced field environment Preferred Qualifications Experience leading crews or managing OSP construction projects Strong contractor management and field leadership experience Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills #J-18808-Ljbffr Swoon
