Location: New York City (Hybrid – 3 days onsite per week) Experience Required: 3–6 Years Position Overview We are seeking a polished, highly professional, and detail-oriented Leave of Absence (LOA) Administrator to join our Human Resources team. This individual will serve as a subject matter expert for employee leave programs, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations while delivering a best-in-class employee experience. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, exceptional judgment, and the ability to interact confidently with employees, managers, senior leadership, and external vendors in a fast-paced financial services environment. This role requires a sharp, organized professional who can manage sensitive information with discretion and maintain the highest standards of service and professionalism. Key Responsibilities Administer and manage all employee leave programs, including: Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) accommodations New York State Paid Family Leave (PFL) Short-Term Disability (STD) Long-Term Disability (LTD) Workers' Compensation Personal leaves and other company-sponsored leave programs Serve as the primary point of contact for employees, managers, and HR Business Partners regarding leave-related inquiries. Coordinate with third-party leave administrators, insurance carriers, healthcare providers, and legal/compliance teams. Review leave requests, medical certifications, supporting documentation, and return-to-work clearances. Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local leave regulations. Track leave cases and maintain accurate records within HRIS and case management systems. Partner with Payroll, Benefits, and HR teams to ensure proper administration of pay and benefits during leave periods. Manage leave status communications and provide timely updates to stakeholders. Facilitate the interactive process for ADA accommodation requests. Prepare reports and analyze leave trends, utilization, and compliance metrics. Support audits and maintain strict confidentiality of employee medical and personal information. Recommend process improvements to enhance employee experience and operational efficiency. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred. 3–6 years of experience administering employee leave programs in a corporate environment. Strong knowledge of FMLA, ADA, PFL, STD, LTD, Workers' Compensation, and related leave regulations. Experience working with third-party leave administrators and disability vendors. Proficiency with HRIS platforms such as Workday, SuccessFactors, ADP, Oracle HCM, or similar systems. Strong understanding of benefits administration and payroll implications related to leave management. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Ability to exercise sound judgment and handle confidential information with discretion. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Outlook. Preferred Qualifications Experience within financial services, banking, asset management, investment management, private equity, or related regulated industries. Professional HR certifications (PHR, SHRM-CP, CEBS, or equivalent). Experience supporting multi-state employee populations.
