Structural Engineer

PGS Worldwide is seeking a Structural Engineer in Chandler, Arizona for a one-year onsite contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This position will perform structural analysis, finite element analysis, and structural modeling for launch vehicles, missiles, and related ground-support hardware.
Required Skills- Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline with 5+ years of relevant engineering experience, master's degree with 3+ years, or PhD with 1+ year.
- Strong structural analysis experience.
- Experience performing Finite Element Analysis (FEA) .
- Experience analyzing structural loads, stress, fatigue, durability, damage tolerance, or stability.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Experience developing or evaluating structural models.
- U.S. citizenship required.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret clearance.
- Experience with FEMAP and NX NASTRAN .
- Experience with ANSYS, ABAQUS , or similar FEA tools.
- Experience with high-performance flight structures.
- Nonlinear structural analysis experience.
- Experience with thermal loading and high-temperature structural mechanics.
- Knowledge of advanced high-temperature materials or CMC material systems.
- Experience supporting structural development testing.
- Active Secret clearance.
- Perform structural analysis of launch vehicle, missile, and ground-support components.
- Develop and evaluate finite-element models.
- Analyze damage tolerance, durability, design allowables, stress, fatigue, stability, and structural response.
- Evaluate structural loads and performance under operational environments.
- Support thermal and high-temperature structural assessments.
- Review engineering drawings, specifications, and structural requirements.
- Support investigations of structural anomalies and test results.
- Generate engineering documentation summarizing analysis methods, assumptions, and results.
- Collaborate with mechanical, systems, and other engineering disciplines.
- $80.00 per hour.
