Restaurant Manager

Job Description

An Insight Global client is seeking a dedicated Restaurant Manager to oversee the daily operations of a fast-paced restaurant in Chicago, IL. This individual will manage a team of approximately six employees while ensuring excellent customer service, operational efficiency, and profitability. The Restaurant Manager will be responsible for creating employee schedules, managing inventory and ordering, monitoring labor costs and sales margins, and maintaining smooth restaurant operations. This is a hands-on leadership position where the manager is expected to step into operational roles, including cooking, when needed.

The restaurant handles approximately 100-250 orders per day through both in-person and online ordering platforms, including Uber Eats. The ideal candidate is someone with a true restaurant management background who is committed to the success of the business and is willing to lead by example in all aspects of restaurant operations. The ideal candidate is a dependable restaurant leader who is passionate about hospitality, thrives in a hands-on environment, and is committed to helping a small restaurant grow and succeed.

Responsibilities Oversee day-to-day restaurant operations and staff performance Create and manage employee schedules Manage restaurant inventory and place supply orders Monitor labor costs, sales ratios, and profit margins Lead, coach, and support a team of six employees Ensure excellent customer service and guest satisfaction Assist with food preparation and cooking as needed Maintain operational standards, cleanliness, and compliance with company procedures Support both dine-in and online order fulfillment operations

Skills and Requirements

4+ years of restaurant management experience Strong understanding of restaurant operations, inventory management, and labor management Proven ability to lead and develop restaurant staff Excellent communication skills and a compassionate leadership style Ability to work in a hands-on environment and assist with cooking and operational duties if needed Strong commitment to the success and needs of the restaurant Ability to adapt quickly and learn new processes Previous cooking, culinary, or chef experience Experience managing high-volume restaurant environments
