Human Resources (HR) Manager

100% ON-SITE in San Jose, CAContract to Hire Position We are looking for an experienced Human Resources (HR) Manager to support and strengthen people operations for an organization in the education industry. This is a Contract to Hire position based in San Jose, California. In this role, you will partner with leaders and employees to foster a compliant, responsive, and employee-centered workplace across the full employment lifecycle. The position requires a strategic HR leader who can balance day-to-day execution with guidance on complex personnel matters while promoting consistent practices and positive employee experiences.Responsibilities:• Partner with managers and staff to provide guidance on workplace concerns, policy interpretation, performance matters, and employee relations issues.• Oversee recruiting activities from sourcing and interviews through offers, onboarding, and retention initiatives to help build a strong workforce.• Conduct thorough and impartial employee relations reviews, documenting findings carefully and recommending appropriate next steps.• Administer HR programs and processes to ensure alignment with company policies and applicable employment regulations at the local, state, and federal levels.• Manage benefits-related activities, including open enrollment coordination and leave administration, while working closely with external vendors and service providers.• Lead performance management efforts by coaching supervisors, supporting review processes, and delivering training on HR practices and compliance expectations.• Maintain and improve HR procedures, systems, and service delivery methods, including support for HRIS and payroll processes such as Paycom.• Supervise HR team members and collaborate with operations and legal partners to address organizational priorities, compliance matters, and risk considerations.
