Job Summary:
The ICU (Intensive Care Unit) registered nurse position is located in WAUSAU, Wisconsin. This role involves providing high-quality critical care in a 16-bed Medical-Surgical ICU with a focus on neuro and trauma patients. The position requires delivering compassionate patient care in a fast-paced environment, adhering to clinical protocols and ensuring patient safety during nights shifts.

Job Details:

• Location: WAUSAU, Wisconsin
• Schedule: 12-hour nights, with a guaranteed minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: WI RN License, BLS, NIHSS, and ACLS certifications. A minimum of 2 years of Med-Surg and ICU experience, with strong neuro care background.
• Preferred Qualifications: CCRN certification.
• Float: Float rotation may be required between Medical-Surgical ICU and Neuro ICU units, with potential for float to other critical care and inpatient units.
• On Call/Call Back: Picking up call is permitted, response time within 1 hour; however, it is not mandated.
• Weekend/Holiday Rotation: Required every other weekend and holiday.
• Clinical Responsibilities: Manage stroke patients, cerebral monitoring, drains, vents, drips, chest tubes, spinal drains, JPs, and CRRT patients. Handle diverse trauma cases including logging, motorcycle, and snowmobile accidents when applicable.
• Additional Notes: The unit is Level 2 trauma with a focus on neuro and respiratory failure cases. Clinical lead availability on day shift, with additional RN support from CNAs and LPNs.
• Shift Notes: 12-hour nights from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM. During flu season, unvaccinated travelers are required to wear masks at all times in accordance with policy.
