Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our progressive care unit (PCU). The ideal candidate will possess strong critical thinking skills and have significant experience in critical care settings.

Scheduled Details

• Shift: 12-hour Nights
• Shift Times: 1900 - 0730
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week

Experience Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in Critical Care/ICU or Emergency Department
• Proficient in the management of BiPAP, chest tubes, PICC lines, and conducting lab draws
• Comfortable operating without a vascular access team and managing own consults
• Experience in conducting own codes
• Open-heart experience on Day 2 or Day 3 with pacer wires
• Patient ratios of 3:1 or 4:1

License/Certification Requirements

• Current RN License in Kansas or Compact RN License
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification
• National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification

Floating Requirements

Employees may be required to float to ICU and all inpatient units, including Med/surge, Med/tele, Acute/tele, and ED, provided they have prior experience in those areas.

Weekend Requirements

Every other weekend will be required.

Holiday Requirement

Travelers are expected to work one holiday from each group: Thanksgiving Day or Black Friday | Christmas Eve or Day | New Year's Eve or Day. Flexibility to work two major holidays is preferred.

Orientation

Orientation will consist of:

• Days 1-2: Initial orientation session
• Day 3: Facility-specific orientation and Director of Nursing training
• Day 4: Continued Director of Nursing training
• Day 5: Virtual Epic training

Additional Notes

• This is a nicotine-free facility.
• Current EMR system is EPIC.
• Employees will receive bi-weekly pay.
• Clients are allowed to cancel one shift per two-week pay period at no cost, with a minimum 2-hour notice provided.
