Nursing SupervisorReporting directly to the Hospital's Administrator and Chief Nursing Officer, the NURSING SUPERVISOR assures the continuity of effective, high quality patient care for an assigned shift. In the absence of the Hospital Administrator, the NURSING SUPERVISOR has the authority and responsibility for administrative decisions with appropriate notification of Senior Leadership.Responsibilities:Effectively coordinates patient care, making rounds to assess operations and problem solve in a timely mannerEnsures compliance with hospital/nursing policies, procedures and standards as well as regulatory agency requirementsDemonstrates expertise in clinical practice, providing immediate support to nursing staffEvaluates staffing needs ensuring compliance with staffing regulationsEducates nursing staff on clinical practice as necessaryEffectively communicates with Nursing Leadership and Hospital Administrator/Chief Nursing OfficerFosters an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors, ensuring hospital acquired conditions do not occurMay function as Administrator-in-Charge in absence of Senior LeadershipEducation/Training/Experience:Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferredCurrent CA RN LicenseCurrent BLS / ACLSExperience in general acute care, behavioral health and sub-acute environments preferredThree (3) years acute clinical experienceOne (1) progressive management experience requiredStrong problem-solving skillsAbility to exercise professional judgement in performing day-to-day activities, ensuring adherence to hospital policies and proceduresExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to meet multiple deadlines in a stressful environment
