Senior Software Engineer, Networking Real-Time Voice AI

We want to bring in a senior-level software engineer to join the engineering team building Dynamic Interaction, a groundbreaking product in conversational AI. Dynamic Interaction instantly follows and captures fluent speech in real-time, ignores off-topic speech, allows users to change requests in real-time, and makes proactive suggestions based on real-time interpretation of the user’s speech. The product uses the twin technologies of fragment parsing and full-duplex audio-visual integration to create an instantaneous, next-generation experience.

In this role, you will:

• Work on SoundHound’s Voice AI for drive-thru project, the market segment winning solution for restaurants incorporating SoundHound’s novel blend of both LLMs and Dynamic Interaction, our unique Real-Time Natural Language Understanding technology
• Develop our product in Python and C++, with the opportunity to work in an open environment without silos, enabling learning of every technical aspect of the business
• Help us polish and scale the product, and contribute to future directions of the technology beyond restaurants.

We would love to hear from you if:

• Minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 6 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 3 years experience; or equivalent experience
• Experience with multithreading/multiprocessing in Python is required
• Experience with WebSockets and networking libraries in Python is required
• Nice to have: Experience building and deploying applications using Docker and Kubernetes
• Nice to have: Experience with C++
• Have an interest in working with a small group, where you get to take ownership

We’d be especially excited if you have previous experience or academic training in Voice AI, ASR, NLU techniques, or have ever worked in a fast-food restaurant drive thru!

This role requires an onsite workplace arrangement based out of our office in Santa Clara, CA. The salary range for this position is $182,000 to $193,000 plus equity. In addition to salary and equity, you will receive comprehensive healthcare, paid time off, and other benefits. Our recruiting team will provide a specific salary range based on location and years of experience.
