A bit about us We are seeking an experienced, dynamic attorney with at least 5 years of focused experience in matrimonial/family law and a strong background in litigation. You will handle contested divorces, custody and support disputes, property distribution matters, enforcement/modification of judgments, and related family law proceedings. Job Details Lead and manage all phases of matrimonial/family law litigation: drafting pleadings, motions, discovery, settlement negotiations, courtroom appearances, trials, and appellate work. Counsel clients on complex issues such as asset division, spousal maintenance, child support, custody and visitation, and enforcement/modification of orders. Prepare and negotiate prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, separation agreements, and post-judgment amendments. Conduct legal research and keep abreast of statutes, precedents, and evolving legal trends in family law. Provide empathetic yet pragmatic guidance to clients, maintain regular communication, manage client expectations, and preserve client confidence through difficult transitions. Mentor more junior attorneys and staff where appropriate, providing oversight, feedback, and training. Participate in business development, client outreach, and community engagement to help grow the practice. Qualifications & Skills Juris Doctor (or equivalent) and admission to the relevant state bar. Minimum of 5 years’ practice focused on matrimonial/family law, with a substantial litigation record. Demonstrated courtroom experience: trials, hearings, contested motions, and evidentiary proceedings. Strong drafting and research skills, with ability to craft persuasive briefs, motions, and legal written argument. Excellent negotiation and advocacy capabilities. Emotional intelligence, patience, and strong client-management skills, especially under pressure. Confidence handling high emotional stakes and sensitive client circumstances.
