We are adding a seasoned Insurance Coverage & Bad Faith Attorney to lead sophisticated defense litigation in a high-autonomy, boutique firm environment.

Job Details

Key Responsibilities

• Directly represent major insurance carriers in high-stakes coverage disputes and extra-contractual "bad faith" litigation in state and federal courts.
• Draft comprehensive coverage analysis opinions, reservation of rights letters, and complex dispositive motions.
• Conduct and defend depositions of key carrier personnel, bad faith experts, and opposing parties.
• Manage complex multi-party coverage litigation from case initiation through trial strategy, mediations, and appellate practice.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education & License: J.D. from an accredited law school; active member in good standing with the State Bar of California (Nevada dual licensure is a significant plus).
• Experience: 5+ years of dedicated practice in insurance coverage analysis and insurance bad faith defense litigation.
• Core Skills: Substantial background defending insurance carriers against extra-contractual claims, handling complex policy interpretation, and leading courtroom proceedings.
• Career Stability: Established record of career longevity and stability (no employment gaps or job hopping).
• Mindset: High-level legal writing ability combined with a desire for direct file ownership and partner-level collaboration in a boutique setting.

Compensation & Benefits

• Base salary range: $200,000 – $300,000+ (commensurate with specialized expertise).
• Discretionary quarterly bonus structure ($10,000+ quarterly bonus opportunity for performance exceeding 475 billable hours/quarter).
• Fully remote work arrangement with optional private office accommodations in Newport Beach, CA.
