About the Role

The Company is in search of a Vice President & General Manager for its heavy civil construction business unit in the Baltimore/Washington, DC market. This executive leadership role is pivotal in driving the region's financial performance, operations, business development, and long-term growth. The successful candidate will be responsible for the unit's P&L, leading a large operational team to ensure project delivery meets the highest standards, and establishing and executing business plans. Key responsibilities also include fostering a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement, as well as developing and maintaining strong client and stakeholder relationships. The role demands a strategic leader with a strong background in heavy civil and infrastructure construction, particularly in the areas of underground utilities, water, and wastewater. Applicants must have a minimum of 15 years' progressive construction leadership experience, with a proven track record in senior operations or business unit leadership. A Bachelor's degree in a related discipline is preferred, and the ideal candidate will have a strong background in heavy civil and infrastructure construction, including experience with various project delivery methods. The role requires a leader with a strong business development track record, capable of building and maintaining client relationships, and with established market and industry relationships in the region. The candidate should be adept at talent and organizational development, with a focus on recruiting, mentoring, and retaining high-performing construction professionals.
