Position Overview  

JANSON is seeking an experienced Program Director – Integrated Mission Environments to lead the development and execution of complex, multi-site programs supporting U.S. military and federal customers throughout the United States. 

This is a senior leadership position responsible for the overall performance, growth, and execution of a portfolio of integrated mission environment programs. The Program Director will serve as a trusted senior advisor to customers and JANSON leadership while directing cross-functional teams responsible for planning, design, engineering, technology integration, construction, fabrication, installation, communications, and program sustainment. 

The ideal candidate is a strategic and commercially minded leader who can operate comfortably at both the executive and tactical levels, developing long-term portfolio strategies while ensuring successful execution of individual projects. 

The Program Director will be accountable for the project portfolio revenue, profitability, schedule, quality, customer satisfaction, risk, staffing, and growth 

Requirements:

Program Leadership & Execution 

• Lead a portfolio of complex, integrated mission environment programs across multiple U.S. locations. 
• Establish program strategy, execution plans, governance structures, performance metrics, and operating rhythms. 
• Maintain executive-level accountability for program cost, schedule, scope, quality, risk, and customer satisfaction. 
• Direct multiple concurrent project managers while ensuring consistency in execution and delivery standards. 
• Integrate design, engineering, construction, technology, fabrication, installation, communications, and other JANSON capabilities into cohesive customer solutions. 
• Establish and manage program-level schedules, budgets, milestones, resource plans, and performance objectives. 
• Identify program risks and develop mitigation strategies before they affect cost, schedule, or customer commitments. 
• Ensure projects are delivered in accordance with contract requirements, applicable regulations, quality standards, and JANSON policies. 
• Drive continuous improvement in program delivery, operational efficiency, and customer experience. 

Customer & Stakeholder Leadership  

• Serve as a senior executive point of contact for government, military, prime contractor, and industry customers. 
• Develop trusted relationships with senior military and federal stakeholders. 
• Lead executive-level program reviews, briefings, status meetings, and performance discussions. 
• Understand customer mission objectives and translate them into actionable program strategies. 
• Anticipate customer needs and identify opportunities to expand JANSON’s role and value. 
• Resolve complex customer issues and facilitate decisions across organizational boundaries. 
• Represent JANSON professionally at customer meetings, industry events, conferences, and site visits. 

Financial & Business Performance  

• Own program financial performance, including revenue, gross margin, forecast, backlog, and cash-flow considerations. 
• Develop and maintain accurate program forecasts and financial projections. 
• Monitor contract performance against budget and identify corrective actions when necessary. 
• Partner with finance and executive leadership to manage program profitability and financial risk. 
• Identify opportunities for organic growth, contract expansion, and follow-on work. 
• Support proposal development, pricing strategy, capture activities, and business development initiatives. 
• Develop strong relationships with customers, partners, subcontractors, and industry stakeholders that support future growth. 

Integrated Delivery  

• Lead multidisciplinary teams across: 
• Program and project management 
• Architecture and engineering 
• Interior/environmental design 
• Construction and facilities modernization 
• Technology and A/V integration 
• Digital experiences and signage 
• Fabrication and installation 
• Strategic communications 
• Data and analytics 
• Logistics and site operations 
• Ensure these disciplines operate as an integrated team rather than independent workstreams. 
• Establish clear interfaces, responsibilities, deliverables, and handoffs among internal teams and external partners. 
• Ensure solutions are technically sound, constructible, operationally practical, and aligned with the customer’s mission. 

Experience  

• 10+ years in program/project management roles of increasing scope and P&L accountability 
• 5+ years specifically leading multi-site, multi-disciplinary programs 
• Direct experience managing programs with government/DoD customers, ideally $10M–$50M+ in annual program value given the "portfolio revenue, profitability, backlog" language 

Skills  

• P&L / program financial management (forecasting, backlog, gross margin, EVM familiarity a plus) 
• Multi-PM oversight - has directly supervised other project/program managers, not just individual contributors 
• Executive stakeholder management - comfortable briefing general officers, SES civilians, or C-suite equivalents 
• Risk management and governance structure design for complex programs 
• Working knowledge of federal contracting (FAR/DFARS exposure), contract types (FFP, T&M, CPFF), and compliance basics 
• Cross-functional team leadership across design, engineering, construction, and technology functions 
• Proposal/capture support experience 

Education  

• Bachelor's degree required - Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or related field 
• Master's degree preferred - MBA or MS in Engineering Management/Construction Management is a strong plus given the executive/strategic nature of the role 

Certifications (Preferred): 

• PMP (Project Management Professional) 
• DAWIA Level II/III in Program Management
