Boat Captain - Blackberry Farm

The pay rate for this position is $30.00 per hour. The Boat Captain is accountable for the safe and responsible operation of Blackberry's watercraft, including all necessary functions of the vessel underway as well as needed maintenance. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following and other duties as assigned: Boat Operation and Trips * SAFE OPERATION OF THE VESSEL following all state and USCG regulations * Maintain the safety of all guests and crew aboard Boat Maintenance * Maintain any applicable watercraft on a regular manufacturer-suggested schedule * Maintain the cleanliness of the given vessel regularly * Maintain functionality and cleanliness of all necessary gear (PFD's, ropes, boards, etc.) Guest Relations * Engage with guests aboard the boat and convey technical knowledge of the boat as well as the setting and activity Must comply with all company policies and procedures. Regular and consistent attendance is required to perform the essential functions of this position. Must be able to work well with other Team Members and Managers and interact with our guests. Must have the flexibility to work weekends and Holidays. EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE * 3-5 years of experience and knowledge in boating * Relevant water sport/recreation experience * Must have a valid driver's license * Must have at least a USCG OUPV Captains License * High School Diploma or equivalent required LANGUAGE SKILLS * Must have excellent communication skills * Must be able to communicate with guests, team members, and managers effectively * Must interact extensively with guests MATHEMATICAL SKILLS * Basic knowledge and understanding of math REASONING ABILITY * Must be able to exercise judgment and make decisions based on job knowledge and awareness of company goals * Must be able to assess current conditions to provide a safe and quality experience PHYSICAL DEMANDS * Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. * Must be able to be on feet most or all of the shift * Must be able to operate a company vehicle or golf cart safely WORK ENVIRONMENT * Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions * 4,200 acres of Blackberry Farm Property
