Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit position requiring MA licensure and Level 1 trauma experience for first-time travelers.

Details

• Work in the A1 Cardiac Tele PCU of a hospital setting
• 12-hour day shift, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend required (Saturday and Sunday for day shift)
• Floating occurs in 4-hour blocks and may include ED holds, inpatient holds, PACU, and other boarding units
• Patient ratios range between 1:3 and 1:5
• Must be able to titrate pressors
• Weekly Monday start dates

Requirements

• Active MA RN license required in hand
• BLS (AHA) required; ACLS (AHA) and NIHSS preferred
• Epic EMR experience required
• Level 1 trauma experience preferred; required for candidates without prior travel experience
• Copy of flu vaccination documentation required during flu season

Additional Information

• Provide progressive care nursing to cardiac telemetry patients with the ability to manage pressor titration
• Day one pass/fail testing administered, covering Tele/ECG and medication competency, with Relias practice tests available
• COVID vaccine plus booster and flu vaccine required, with medical exemptions allowed
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility, as local candidates are not accepted
• Previous BILH employees (travel, perm, or per diem) must have a minimum 6-month break before returning to any BILH facility
• First-time travelers will be considered for this position
